Everyone looked GREAT on Picture day. Thanks for your help with that.
Please ask your child about the squiggle/transformation drawing we did with the gifted teacher, our M&M addition activity/game we did with Mrs. Pam, and the new songs we learned in music class. What a fun filled week.
NOW... Welcome to Fall, a fresh week, and the beginning of unit 2 in Reading and Language.
Monday is day #1 and Friday is day #5... We are back on track for a while.
I will be sending the spelling words home for the entire unit.
I will also send home the study page for each weekly story. Please look for these in your child's folder.
A few changes are starting with the reading test this Thursday. The students will complete the two written answered questions independently and they will be scored on the test. (remember the first unit I showed them how to answer in complete sentences) Also the written answered question of the fresh read story (part of the test) will be counted as well.
Thanks to all of you who have been signing graded papers that have been coming home.

Remember: This week is the Book Fair. I will take my students to purchase books (in the lunchroom) right after lunch each day. They previewed the books last Friday. Please send your child with their money secured in a zippy bag or envelope. If you want them to buy specific books just list the title and we will be sure to get the book you want.
Each teacher fills out a wish list. If you are interested in purchasing a book FOR our classroom just see the list available in the lunchroom and choose a book to buy.
Our first PTO meeting will be Tuesday, at 6pm. in the lunchroom. You can see the book fair that night as well. The purple pod students will be performing at the end of the meeting. Pizza is usually provided at about 5:30 for a reasonable price for those of you who need dinner that night. Hope to see you there.
A gotcha will be given to each student who attends with their family.
Remember, Monday is day #4. The reading test on "The Desert" story is on Mon.
Day #5 is on Tues. The Spelling and Language tests are on Tues.
The nightly reading passage will be read aloud to me on Tues. and a new passage will start on Wed.
Have a great Week.
